i had ETS on march 2008 i suffered a lot from the sweating for 23yrs and theres no need to tell anyone suffering from this most embarrasing social condition about that.my palms were so dry after the surgery and i felt it was a dream. I had some CS but it didnt bother me. i had a perfect final academic year in my college and now after more than a year after the surgery im awakening from that wonderful dream my hands are getting wet and this is getting worse progressivrly. Went swimming today for the first time in ages! It's the only thing i can do to keep something like healthy, plus it disguises the cs. People can't notice me sweating when i'm in the water. This is my first contribution, don't consider ETS - ever - unless your surgeon uses clips and he agrees that he/she can reverse in first 12 months.

My neurosurgeon actually cut a small segment of the sympathetic nerve away which means my only chance of reversal will be an overseas visit to Finland (I am UK based).

I didn't suffer from either sweating or blushing prior to op but had a problem of freezing and swollen hands - mainly during the night-time, and after...

Does anyone know if oxygen levels are reduced after ets surgery???? and also does anyone take oxygen suppliments to improve some of there symptoms????? if so what are they and how do they help. I suffer with excess acid, dizzieness, light headedness, vision problems, weakness, nausea, fatigue, memory loss!!! could this be down to my oxygen levels being very low?????????? please help.

My surgeon was f'd up..

I had ETS in 2000 for severe sweating.. mostly underarm.. and some blushing.

He told me the usual.. 2% suffer compensatory sweating etc.. I did do some research but didn't find anything particularly shocking at the time. I think there is more on the internet NOW about it than there was in 2000.

While recovering in hospital the nurses had to get me to lean forward to wipe my back.. as already I was sweating a lot. And.. it was...

Hi, I just want to tell you my story and hopefully encourage some, warn some or just even relate to some.

I suffered from major blushing from about the age of 18..it just got progressively worse to the point that I would go red for almost no reason whatsoever. It was the worst when I was in work. For example, in staff meetings if i ever had to talk or even if my name was mentioned I would feel myself going red, if i made eye contact with a hot girl - the result would be a beamer...

I look forward to nothing... Everyday I wake up and I am just there, going through the motions. I don't consider myself to be depressed. Is this because of ETS? Do I have something else going on? I do remember in my pre state that there would be certain days that you just wake up and feel great. Those no longer occur. I had the surgery during my junior year or high school. I cannot tell you how much I hated having sweaty hands!
