Don't rush into surgery; take your time and do as much research as possible. If you have doubts, postpone your decision until you are completely sure that surgery is the only option left. Remember, this is surgery--it can not be fully reversed (this includes early removal of clamps). Even the most experienced ETS surgeon cannot guarantee good results.
Familiarize yourself with all the questions and relative terms before seeing your doctor. You're likely to be nervous during the interview so we suggest that you print out a copy of the questions (they're listed in the next topic) and take it along with you. Make sure you are satisfied with the doctor's answers and don't be afraid to ask too many questions. Your future could depend on it.
We neither encourage nor discourage anyone from having ETS. Our interest is to provide you with a list of specific ETS questions beyond those that you would normally ask regarding a surgical procedure. Also, feel free to ask any questions here at the forum and we'll try to help you with them.
Good luck.
