I've been considering getting ETS for about 2 years now. When I first read about it back in 2004 it wasn't a well known procedure. It seemed they were still making discoveries in the way the procedure was done so I put it off and dealt with Drysol and embarrassment. Lately I've taken a greater interest in it as I have insurance and have almost had it with my embarrasing situations.
I've been reading a lot about anxiety and depression after the surgery. I feel I have social anxiety now and have that "jumpiness" to my personality. And I'm generally quiet in nature, not to emotinal, and am not too active but like to run and work out, but not in the competitive sense.
I have palmar, plantar, and auxilary sweating year round. Sometime I have some compensatory sweating on the lower back and butt in the summer months. (Dry/Hot climate)
So I have a few questions for everyone out there. I thank you in advance for taking the time to educate me and share your experience with me.
1. Has anyone in my anxiety/emotional status had this surgery and had it benefit their social activities? I'm read about the negative effects in other Topics.
2. Has anyone had this surgery already having compensatory sweating (on top of palmar, plantar, and auxilary) that had it help them with all cases? What method did you have done?
3. Are there any credentials or any "gotchas" that stick out for any surgeons that I should see and stay away from?
4. I noticed the collapsing of the lung procedure is still done by some surgeons. Anyone have this? Anyone have the other procedure?
I'm sure I will have plenty more questions!!! Thank you all again!
