Hey party people,
As you may know, winter is right around the corner. Yep. For many of us, this is a great thing - right? However, it does have its disadvantages too. Who here sweats no matter how cold it is? If so, how bad? During what kind or degree of activity?
Me personally, I sweat no matter how cold it is. I can sweat to the point where there is not a dry spot chest down on my shirt. My dad and I went camping at Yosemite last December, and we camped on the snow. I started moving things around camp and started to sweat. Not good in the freezing cold as you can imagine. My hands and feet were FREEZING, while my dads remained nice and toasty. My body never adjusted, and I was screwed all night long. I feel however that I didn't dress as best as I could.
Remember to not wear cotton as your base-layer. I have a post on this site about a product called 'SmartWool'. I'm telling you, an absolute must. Some of you might even have socks of theirs and not even know it. I won't wear anything else ever again. I've never praised anything so much. It's all about keeping your thermoregulation as normal as possible, and personally I haven't found anything better that does that for me. I can be completely drenched in it and not feel so clammy. Incredibly comfortable, pricey, but worth it. They have cute stuff for woman too. www.smartwool.com
I also just bought a Jacket (on steroids) with a newer technology in waterproof fabrics called 'eVent'. From what I'm hearing, it is the future for waterproof jackets/fabrics giving Gortex a run for its money. Our armed forces use it and it has been praised by various outdoor magazines. The main advantage of eVent is it's breathability. (Haven't had the chance to put it into action yet). One of the companies motto's is "Let the sweat out". I've seen this frabric in shoes as well. Let me know what you think. What do you find works best for you? Thanks!
