I want to give everyone a heads up about a company called Kleinert's. I had my ETS done in 1999 and like so many others I got CS really bad. In 2007 I found Kleinert's online and have been ordering 6 to 8 of their sweat proof t-shirts every year since. The shirts work for about 3 to 4 months and did help stop the sweat from passing through to my top shirt. Recently, however, I’ve had a huge problem with their customer service.
A few months ago I ordered a 3 pack of the shirts and noticed they were not working as well as the old ones did. I called and talked to a customer service rep (a man who from past conversations I gather is the owner) and he said that since I had worn the shirts I could not return them. While this upset me, I understood, and even placed an order for another shirt. He said they had a “new and improved” t-shirt that I should try. I ordered a black one since I’ve noticed the white ones do get sweat stains after awhile. When the order arrived, I received a white shirt, not the color I had requested. I called to ask if I could return my unopened and unworn shirt. The same guy said I couldn’t and accused me of saying I wanted a white one. I told him he was mistaken and he told me he never makes mistakes! I should also mention during all of my calls to this company I was always on the speaker so it was difficult for me to hear him. I asked to be taken off the speaker, and suggested it’s possible that was how he had made the mistake. He screamed that he was hard of hearing and that was why I was on the speaker. After telling him that I was not hard of hearing, that he didn’t need to shout at me, I again suggested it’s possible he misunderstood which color I had ordered.
This man became overly upset when I questioned him as to why I could not return this shirt. He became extremely rude and arrogant simply because I asked that I be allowed to return this shirt for another and get credit on my next order for the shipping. He shouted if I didn’t like their service, I should buy shirts elsewhere and hung up on me.
I called back and a woman named Marie answered the phone. I explained the situation to her and she tried to make things right. She said she would credit my account for the shipping and send me a black one. I want to return the shirt but after dealing with the owner I am REALLY afraid I will not get one back so I am going to keep the white one. All I wanted was the right color shirt and a credit for my next order. For him to scream at me, say he never makes mistakes and hang up was very unprofessional.
I have been in retail all my life and have managed many stores. I would fire anyone who treated a customer the way this guy treated me. I added up what I have spent with this company since 2007 and it is a lot of money. Besides ordering shirts, I’ve always ordered a special detergent they said I should use on them and sweat pads.I am extremely disappointed with their customer service and have found a new place to buy my shirts as the owner suggested.
